In partnership with CityCampSF, CityCamp Oaktown and Urban Strategies Council...
We're hosting a small OpenData Day hackathon, barely CityCamp event this Saturday at Urban Strategies Council in downtown Oakland. Keeping things east bay specific and building towards the SF Hackathon and the next CityCamp Oakland in early 2012. Check out http://www.opendataday.org/ for what this worldwide day is about.
We're keeping things unconferency this weekend, agenda on the day as always. We'll be discussing new data for Oakland & SF, what people want to see happen here, how data and better tech can improve our city and to share ideas that we can work on collectively. We're hoping there's interest to build on existing local efforts like Open211, Open311 and more great local work from government, Code For America and other CityCamps.
Update: To share your ideas and to vote on projects/hacks/discussions you want to join get involved early here.
Come along and celebrate OpenData in Oaktown, meet other local hackers and coders and designers and let's keep the Bay Area fresh for all techs!
Lunch and coffee will be provided, but the space and dollars are limited so you MUST RSVP!!!
Search for #citycampoak to keep on on the twitterverse.
We're right above the 19th St BART exit, next door to BEST Music and above the Paratransit offices. Buzz the door or email to get in the building!
